House Rules 2020 Robes

April 09, 2020 | House Rules 2020

The House Rules master suite includes the luxury of “his” and “hers” walk-in robes. The key to designing a successful robe is to ensure the storage needs of the owners are catered for and the design complements the adjoining bedroom. The robes in this master suite were designed by different contestants, making a synchronized result even more challenging.

“His” robe is finished in Polytec Angora Oak Woodmatt, while “hers” is in Polytec White Ultra Matt. The open shelves in “hers” are edged in Polytec Bronze Leaf Matt with a benchtop of Calacutta D’Oro Matera, also by Poytec. These spaces presented certain challenges that we believe have been successfully met. In most cases an experienced designer can deal with unexpected obstacles, as occurred here when a structural column was encountered during the demolition phase of the project.

When designing the robes in your home, always consider functionality before aesthetics. In the case of the “High Stakes” House Rules project, the finished robes offer ample hanging space, and luxurious soft-close doors and drawers by Hettich. We particularly love the dedicated shelving for shoes that allows simple storage and facilitates easy selection. In terms of visual appeal and complementing functionality, the designs also offer discreet feature lighting and generously-sized free-standing and floor-mounted dressing room mirrors.
