House Rules 2020 Dry Bar

April 16, 2020 | House Rules 2020

Do you have plenty of space in your home, or perhaps an unusual or difficult area that is under-utilised? A Dry Bar may the perfect solution, as it was in the penthouse apartment in the current series of House Rules “High Stakes” 2020. In fact Imperial Kitchens designed and installed two dry bars in this Gold Coast apartment, both of which are designed to take advantage of the Gold Coast lifestyle and amazing ocean views. The dry bar pictured here has generous dimensions of 3100mm x 1725mm, however great outcomes can be achieved in much smaller spaces. While the projects at House Rules called for “dry” bars, some clients include a plumbed sink and a beverage centre if services are available. If you like the dry bar in these photos you may be interested in the colours and finishes chosen by the contestants. The cabinets are Polar White Matt by Polytec, with open shelves in Gold Leaf Matt. The raised bench is topped by Smartsone Arcadia Arrass with 35mm melamine benchtops made from Calacutta D’Oro Matera with a square edge.

An Entertainer’s Delight

While “entertainer’s delight” is an over-used term in real estate advertisements, it’s hard to argue that a dry bar wouldn’t be on the wish list of those people who list entertaining friends and family in the comfort of their own homes as a favourite pass-time. Having the glistening blue Pacific Ocean and the golden sands of Surfers Paradise as a backdrop only adds to the appeal in this case! A ready-made place to store your precious beverages, with shelves to display glassware and accessories, this dry bar will become a focal point for the lucky owners of this Gold Coast penthouse apartment. It’s easy to imagine gatherings of loved ones and visitors in this welcoming zone. With a little imagination and the expert help of our designers you may be able to create a similar feature in your home.
